Meet Aly Paleschic, LCMHC

Trauma and Couples Therapist in Cary, NC

I believe that our relationships are at the center of our emotional well-being. The way we connect with others shapes how we feel about ourselves and experience the world around us. When we can strengthen our connections and feel secure, we are better equipped to navigate life’s challenges and thrive.

My goal in therapy is to provide a safe space where you can tune into your emotions as messengers and understand what they are communicating about your needs. We will work together to use these insights to make sense of your experiences and create meaningful change so you can feel more fulfilled and connected to your life and the people that matter most.

Aly Paleschic, LCMHC, is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in couples and individual therapy for ages 18-65+. Aly has extensive experience supporting clients through challenges, including relational concerns, life transitions, depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, and self-esteem. She brings experience from a variety of clinical settings, including private practice, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and university clinics.

Aly is passionate about helping both couples and individuals work through relationship concerns across diverse contexts, including romantic partnerships, family relationships, friendships, and workplace dynamics. She also has significant experience working with Emerging Adults and the concerns unique to this stage of life, including navigating life transitions, developing a sense of identity, and managing evolving parent-adult child relationships. Aly is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for clients of all backgrounds and identities.

Aly’s approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which she intentionally tailors to each client’s specific concerns. Aly’s approach balances casual warmth with directive guidance, creating a supportive space where clients can explore their values and needs to make thoughtful and purposeful changes.

Lasting Change for Individuals in Cary, NC

Individual therapy with Aly focuses on helping clients better understand how their past and present experiences impact their beliefs about themselves and others, their emotions, and how they engage in their relationships.

She draws on multiple therapeutic models to support insight and skill-building with her clients, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Aly utilizes these evidence-based approaches to help clients recognize unhelpful thought and behavior patterns that keep them stuck and contribute to their emotional and relational distress. She works with clients to develop skills to reduce reactivity and increase intentional behaviors for improved mindfulness, connection, and overall well-being.

Meaningful Change for Couples in Cary, NC

Aly also specializes in working with couples who struggle with communication, feel emotionally disconnected, or find themselves stuck in patterns of conflict. She utilizes Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help couples break negative cycles by increasing understanding of each partner’s emotional triggers and unmet needs, and how these shape their interactions with one another. Together, couples learn to communicate with vulnerability and empathy and can show up for one another in new ways to support rebuilding emotional closeness, trust, and connection.

Are you ready to make a change in your life?

Education and Training

Aly received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. During her first clinical year, Aly worked for the University of Florida at one of  UF Health Psychology Specialties’ clinics serving both the student and faculty populations as well as providing mental health services to the Gainesville, FL community. Aly completed an intensive, specialized training in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy and served as a clinical group facilitator and individual therapist for adolescents and their families participating in UF Health’s DBT program. During her time at UF, she also gained significant experience working with Emerging Adults, which she carried into a specialty once entering private practice.

In private practice, Aly’s clinical focus shifted to relationships and helping clients struggling with mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety that often occur alongside their relationship distress. Aly completed both the Fundamentals of Emotionally Focused Therapy training and the multi-day intensive externship in EFT to better support her clients in achieving deeper, lasting change within their relationships.
