Experience and Clinical Passion
In addition to helping couples communicate more effectively, overcome resentments, and facilitating healing for couples as a whole, Amy is trained in Discernment Counseling and is a Certified Collaborative Divorce Facilitator. Her training in Discernment Counseling is particularly helpful for couples where one partner may be feeling uncertain or ambivalent about couples therapy or may even be considering if they want to continue the relationship. Discernment counseling helps support both the leaning-out and leaning-in partner emotionally process where they are even in mixed-agenda states. Amy is passionate about working with the ambivalence rather than avoiding or overlooking these pain points. For couples choosing to divorce, Amy utilizes her expertise to help couples gracefully navigate the divorce process in a respectful and cooperative manner.
Additionally, Amy is passionate about helping individuals move through the grieving process, women’s mental health, anxiety, life changes, career challenges, substance use, and depression. Amy’s training in CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and DBT enables her to help clients identify blind spots, challenge negative thinking patterns, and enhance their emotion regulation and distress tolerance for lasting change.
Are you ready to make a change in your life?
